Components for PC’s are wide and varied. Unlike electronic components which refer to the singular items used to create a function within a product, PC components refer to a whole different variety of devices that one may use in conjunction with their PC or simply to enhance it.
PC components can range from anything such as hard drives and storage devices, to graphic cards. There is generally a split in the world of PC components and that is usually of components that are required for the PC to function, and components that are used for enhancement of the PC’s capabilities and functions. Electronic enthusiasts who may wish to build their own PC will require the necessary components to do so. This will include a CPU, a fan, a motherboard, a hard drive, and memory or storage. Other devices that may be necessary will be a keyboard and mouse, and a monitor or screen of some sort. It is now quite popular for people to double up the use of their LCD flat screen TV and connect it to their PC to use as a monitor too.
Additional components to enhance the users experience on the PC will include components such as TV cards, sound cards, graphics cards, backup devices, CD/DVD drives and writers, additional memory in the form of external hard drives, USB sticks, and even cases for the actual PC itself, which in themselves can be customised with smaller electrical components such as LEDs. There are many businesses that specialise in the retail of PC components, and these can generally be found on both the internet and on high street stores. Specialist components, or components that perform specific other functions may only be available from a specialist.
